Cavalier Royale

A Selle Francais x Holstein cross, the hottest in the world today, being responsible for such stars as Classic Touch, individual Gold at Barcelona and Ratina Z, individual silver and team gold with the Netherlands  at Barcelona . Heroine of the World Cup Finals a few weeks later and Champion Jumper at the World Championships at the Hague in 1994, Cavalier is closely related to the two above stars.

  • COR DE LA BRYERE, probably the leading sire in the world of top performers in all three disciplines and a world class sire of sires he has in excess of 50 approved sons at stud worldwide. Corlandus, Chanel K, Classic Touch, Calvaro, Caletto I and II, Corlando and Cordeka immediately coming to mind.
  • Rantzau xx, an Anglo Irish thoroughbred and top class race horse, winning the Caeserwich Stakes, the Goodwood Cup and the Jockey Club Gold Cup twice. HE is now a leading sire of showjumpers in France.
  • Furioso xx, an Irish Thoroughbred with a classic pedigree. One of the all-time great jumping stars the world has known- 12 times leading sire in France, Gold and Silver at the Tokyo Olympics and World Cup Champion 2 years later.
  • LIGUSTRA (HSP), is registered in the Elite section of the Holstein Studbook due to her success at stud, producing 6 top performing off spring, mostly by Cor de La Bryere including two other sons at stud - Cicero a Holstein approved full brother to Cavalier was the reserve champion in the '84 Holsteiner Verband, while in '98 he had the reserve champion jumper, Glen Lady in the German National Championships. Vamara, a full sister to Cavalier is producing top performing stock in Switzerland, especially the 8-year-old stallion Courage for Leslie Mc Naught.

  • During a successful career in Switzerland and on the continent, Cavalier graduated up the ranks to Grade A, and was a multiple Grand Prix winner. He also jumper 2m 15 (over 7 feet) in Puissance in Germany.

Sensational  leading Sire in Ireland. The only sire to challenge the total supremacy of Clover Hill (probably the best stallion ever to stand in Ireland) in the Young Horse Championships at Millstreet From a stallion herd of 500, capable of producing a qualifier for the Young Horse National Championships including such world class performing sires as Cruising, Spring Elegance, Touch Down and Carrol's Flight, most stallion owners would be pleased with more than one qualifier!

    • In 1993 with his first crop of 3 year-olds, The Millstreet National Championship, the Young Irelander was something of a testimony to Cavalier. No fewer than 8 of the Cavalier 3 year-olds qualified for the Millstreet final with 5 winning through to the Saturday night's final session (last 30). He finished with the Champion, Magnetic, 5 th and 9 th. In 1994 Cavalier had an unbelievable 14 qualify for Millstreet in the Young Irelander, while in the 4 year old Championship, the National Discovery he had 3 in the final 12. In 1995 a daughter of Cavalier, Lady Betty, won the Young Irelander again from his 6 qualifiers while in the 4-year-old championship he had 14 starters, and unbelievably 7 still in contention for the Friday night final session. He finished with 2 in the last 10 including the runner up (second place), Clona (now called Gardini Stardust)

Cavalier has had more winners and finalists of all the young horse championships than the progeny from any other stallion in Ireland. Cavalier's success in Ireland has been spectacular both on the performance circuit and in the sales ring.

Cavalier stamps all of his stock with his own good looks and wonderful temperament. The are all spectacularly good movers and are very athletic and regardless of the dam they all seem to jump. He gets about 65% seal brown in colour like himself with usually very little white on them and approximately 35% rich bay, an occasional grey but no chestnuts.

He transmits much more blood and quality than you would expect looking at him so this makes him a perfect sire for many typs of mares this also applys to Cavy's Boy.

Cavy's boy competed upto 1.50m himself with the

    ability to do much more.

Now 17 yrs young has taken to stud duties.
